Glenda Blackwell, in an attempt to teach her husband a lesson for gambling too much, won USD 1 million on Carolina Millions scratch cards.
Glenda Blackwell wanted to teach her gambler husband a lesson. When he sent his wife to buy two Powerball tickets from Asheville's Suttles Quik Mart on October 22, 2016, she took ten-dollar Carolina Millions scratch cards for herself instead.
Glenda said in an interview with WLOS-TV:
I was going to teach him a lesson, so I bought scratch cards to show him they weren't worth it. Sometimes my husband pisses me off. I told him he was just wasting money.
These words turned against her when the scratch card turned out to be a win of USD 1 million. Even after paying all taxes, the couple was left with an impressive amount of USD 415,503.
The couple plans to buy a new home with their own lot and help their granddaughters pay for college.
