Ukraine: Legalization of casinos is getting closer
The passions surrounding the legalization of gambling business in the neighboring state are not childish. As you understand, we are talking about Ukraine, where it was recently announced that in the near future Not only land-based gambling establishments but also online casinos will be permitted in the country.
Most future owners of legal clubs are primarily interested in legal and financial issues. In particular, under what conditions will licenses be issued, and how will the issue be regulated with legislation. Unfortunately, so far the matter has not gone beyond discussions and empty talk. Some time ago, a scheme was proposed according to which the main income from casino licensing would be received by private individuals, and not the state treasury. Naturally, this did not suit the government in any way, so the bill was rejected at the discussion stage.
The next option was not satisfactory because of the too strict regulation, which would not allow normal business conduct. Accordingly, this project was also closed.
As a result, today Dmitry Natalukha's project is being seriously considered, which is currently considered the most optimal. It has a well-developed mechanism for issuing licenses to both land-based and virtual casinos. Of course, many details have not yet been finalized. In particular, the cost of permits. However, there is finally hope that the debate around the legalization of casinos will subside and truly constructive work will begin to improve the legislation.
Presumably, the cost of a license to open land-based casinos will be tied to the number of hotel rooms, which must be located in a complex with a gambling establishment. The more rooms there are in the hotel, the lower the cost of the license will be. There is no talk yet about the price of a permit to open an online casino. Most interested parties hope that the issue of legalizing the gambling industry will be resolved this year. The new president of the country does not seem to be against speeding up the process, so he regularly reminds people of the decision made at press conferences.
