Organizers of underground casino to be sentenced
Despite the intensified fight of law enforcement agencies against illegal gambling business in the country, underground casinos, whose work is organized by citizens eager for easy money, are closed almost every month. Recently in Primorsky Krai, or more precisely, in Vladivostok, it was reported that a group of underground entrepreneurs will go to court. The reason for initiating a criminal case was the organization of an illegal casino, which was disguised as a bookmaker's office. The game was held online due to restrictions related to quarantine measures.
Even before the introduction of restrictions related to the pandemic, one of the buildings in Vladivostok actually accepted sports bets. At the same time, checks were printed for customers on a printer, and not punched through the cash register, which is also a serious violation. In addition, the owners of the bookmaker offered all interested players to download a special application with which they could play standard online casino slots. Apparently, in this office you could play not only at home, but also directly in the bookmaker's office. In this case, winnings were issued by the administrator of the institution or a special terminal.
The group of illegal businessmen consists of three men and one woman. At least, so far only these persons have been identified. The leader of the group is a citizen born in Armenia. During the activities carried out, law enforcement agencies found about one and a half million rubles. At the same time, the property of the detainees was seized. Based on the current Criminal Code, the defendants may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to six years. In addition, they will most likely have to pay a fine of one million rubles.
Considering that illegal gambling establishments are regularly closed in the country, it can be assumed that gambling is in great demand in the Russian Federation. However, there are very few active gambling zones in the vast territory. Perhaps, in the near future, the government will want to consider the issue of legalizing online games, as was recently done in Belarus and is going to be done in Ukraine.
