Streamers are tense: responsibility for online gambling advertising has not been cancelled
Recently it became known that many streamers have noticed increased interest from tax authorities in their persons, and also felt the threat of blocking the channels on which they post prohibited content, broadcast and earn money. Some of them have already stopped launching slots, promoting the topic of online casinos, which was forced on the well-known Twitch platform, while others have rushed to protect their "business" by switching to other streaming resources.
This situation arose after E. Mizulina, already known to the entire Internet community, acting on behalf of the Safe Internet League, published on her resources a list of 40 people who, in her opinion, post illegal content, advertising virtual casinos. She also stated that the organization had already sent an appeal to the relevant authorities, including Roskomnadzor, as well as the tax service, demanding that restrictions be adopted against illegal content.
By the way, after a detailed analysis, some people were removed from the above-mentioned list. For example, Aleksandr "zoneR" Bogatiryev. Who is not an online casino streamer, but is considered a coach and commentator of CS:GO competitions. Among the famous people who were included in the list are: E. Creed, Guseyn Gasanov, Y. Khovansky, and Kirill "VJlink" Zyryanov.
According to Mizulina, the requirements presented by RKN to video platforms include restricting access to the accounts of the aforementioned and other persons from the list. Also, the FTS employees have already started an inspection, which may reveal violations of tax legislation. By the way, some streamers support the blocking of their colleagues, since in the end, the resource remains open for access in the Russian Federation, and this is good for both users and law-abiding bloggers. After the adoption of these measures by the League for Safe Internet, the number of gambling streams has significantly decreased. By the way, all bloggers should be reminded that such activities are subject to liability in the legislation of the Russian Federation. Advertising of online casinos, as well as brands associated with them, is prohibited in Russia.
The fines can be quite substantial:
- for individuals – 2-2.5 thousand rubles;
- for officials – 4-20 thousand rubles;
- for legal entities – 100-500 thousand rubles.
In addition, domains of resources that contain online casino advertising are blocked. By the way, more serious liability is provided for foreign persons. Thus, "individuals" will pay fines of 30-100 thousand rubles, officials - 100-500 thousand rubles, and legal entities - 3-6 million rubles.
