Responsible Gaming: A Milestone in the History of Modern Gambling
Recently, another study of trends in global gambling was conducted. They again, as before, revealed that underage players are much more susceptible to the influence of gambling advertising than adult users. The studies also showed that a new trend is rapidly developing among operators: promoting the main principles of responsible gaming. In total, more than 650 people were studied. They were distributed as follows:
- 210 – from 10 to 17 years;
- 222 – from 18 to 24;
- 221 – 25 to 78.
The most popular and effective advertising was the eSports advertising. It was viewed more by users under 25 years of age. Even such seemingly harmless eSports advertising had a negative impact on the children's psyche. Gambling advertising is a negative factor for most adults, while it had the opposite effect on children and caused completely different emotions.
The study concluded that it is necessary to establish stricter rules in the fight against the negative impact of gambling advertising. Considering that teenagers and young people are the main contingent of social networks in which gambling advertising regularly appears, this problem should be treated more responsibly.
Today, many users spend time in online casinos. It is much easier for operators of such sites to obtain data about visitors. They can very quickly find out about the preferences of customers, how much time they spend playing, etc. It is no secret that most operators hide important information about the average age of visitors, how much they lose, etc. Today, it is necessary to conduct business in this area more competently, expanding the principles of responsible gaming. For example, seeing that a player spends too much time in an establishment and loses significant amounts, the operator should contact such a client and offer him ways to limit himself. If this happens on all sites, then addiction to gambling can be reduced a little.
