Russia has once again remembered about illegal online casinos. On March 23, State Duma deputies A. Khinshtein and S. Zhigarev submitted a bill for consideration, which stipulates that the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation will block all payments from players to virtual casinos. That is, according to the idea of the initiators of the law, extra-judicial practice will be used to restrict transfers.
According to Khinshtein, this bill is necessary because it will allow more effective counteraction to the organization of illegal gambling on the Internet. Over the past few years, more than 120 thousand illegal resources related to gambling have been blocked in the Russian Federation. The deputy is also confident that it is necessary to debug a system that will allow blocking not only gambling resources, but also payment systems through which money is transferred to them. It is known that YuMani (former Yandex.Money) and Qiwi no longer transfer money to virtual casinos. However, some other services are still operating. Including foreign ones.
In the near future, the Federal Tax Service will create a register in which all organizers of online gambling and illegal lotteries will be recorded. It is alleged that the well-known virtual casino 1XBet has caused damage to Russian gamers for an impressive amount - 65 billion rubles. If we estimate the total profit received by illegal casinos in the Russian Federation, it is more than 850 billion rubles. In this regard, it should be borne in mind that bans have never been an effective measure. Legalization and control of online gambling would not only bring relative order to this area, but also receive significant income from tax deductions from the organizers of gambling entertainment.
