Playtech will shut down Marvel line of slot machines from its portfolio

British developer Playtech has announced the removal of its Marvel super-hero slot machines by the end of March 2017 due to license expiration.

Back in 2013, the Walt Disney Company, the parent company that owns Marvel Studios, decided not to renew the license for the right to use super-heroes in Playtech slot machines. According to Disney representatives, this was due to concerns about the image of the company making money from gambling.

Playtech, for its part, announced that game engines from the Marvel slots series will be reused. Almost all slot machines about super-heroes will be rebranded and turned into a line of slots Age of Gods.

Examples of replacing some of the slots:

The Avengers - Age of the Gods;
Iron Man 2 - Age of the Gods: King of Olympus;
The Incredible Hulk - Age of the Gods: Prince of Olympus;

The information was confirmed by a William Hill spokesperson, stating:

Playtech will remove the Marvel line of games on March 31. This means that starting April 1, 2017, we will no longer be able to provide Marvel games. We will also replace all promotional materials containing their characters.

Playtech's Marvel slots are sadly leaving us at the end of March, but don't panic. There is a replacement coming from heaven - Age of the Gods slot machines.
