Organizers of illegal gambling entertainment detained
Recently, two new cases of illegal gambling business organization were revealed in Russia. In both cases, the suspects were detained, and the relevant authorities are conducting an inspection and investigation. A team of violators of Russian legislation organized the work of an illegal casino in Neftekumsk and Stavropol. The accomplices, consisting of two women and three men, worked for almost six months, violating Russian laws (from June to December 2021).
The main organizer purchased and installed gambling equipment, after which he attracted other members of the criminal group, who helped organize the provision of gambling services. The criminal group included operators and security guards who ensured the continuity of the gaming process. The algorithm by which the work was organized was as follows:
- Operators found people willing to play gambling slots and contacted them
- A visitor to an illegal casino transferred money to pay for games on a PC.
- Then access to the selected gambling entertainment was opened, and the client began to play.
A criminal case was opened against all members of the criminal community. They are accused of organizing and conducting gambling outside specially organized zones in violation of the laws of the Russian Federation.
The punishment for each member of the group will be determined by the court, it will be individual for each, since the duties and work that this or that accused person performed will be taken into account. Such actions can result in imprisonment for up to 4 years. According to the Investigative Committee, all necessary measures and investigative actions are currently being carried out to collect evidence. The investigation was recently launched and is ongoing.
Another similar case against the organizers of illegal gambling was opened in Nalchik. Here the criminal group consisted of three people (two women and a man). According to preliminary data, they may face up to two years of imprisonment. This was stated by one of the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
Law enforcement officers have uncovered an illegal gambling club operating on Idarova Street. The underground casino had 11 PCs installed. They were used to organize gambling via the Internet. Payments were made online.
