Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree legalizing online gambling, BelTA reports, citing the head of state’s press service.
In particular, the document establishes the specifics of licensing and taxation of this activity, and also defines the requirements and conditions. The organizer of an online casino will need to not only obtain a license, but also have a security deposit in a special account, which will be used to pay out winnings and settle accounts with the budget in the event of financial insolvency of the organizer of the online casino.
At the same time, the owner of the online casino will need to provide tax authorities with remote access to the virtual gambling establishment and connect it to a special computer cash register system, with the help of which it will be possible to control the turnover of the resource, as well as identify its visitors.
At the same time, the age limit for casino visitors, including virtual ones, has been raised from 18 to 21 years. The document also prohibits visitors to gambling establishments from providing other players with money to participate in gambling, and obliges gambling organizers to install video surveillance systems in their establishments to record all visitors.
