Online Casino Limits Are Lowering
Recently, news was announced that is considered positive for Belgian players. Since the end of October, to be precise, since the 20th, the deposit limit in virtual casinos has been significantly reduced.
As follows from the royal decree, from October 20, the deposit limit in online casinos will be reduced from 500 to 200 euros. Information about this was published in the Government Bulletin. The new limits will be applied to all gambling sites, so most gambling gamers took this news very positively. In any case, those who are prone to gambling addiction and cannot independently regulate their stay in a virtual gambling establishment.
The law stipulates that gamblers can request the removal of such a hard limit, but the operator, before doing so, is obliged to notify the regulatory body of such a request, as well as check with the National Bank that the gamer is not a defaulter listed in the credit registry. If the player is not listed, the hard limit can be removed within three days after the player's request is received by the casino operator. By the way, such requests must be processed by operators as quickly as possible.
In total, the gambling commission, together with the court, also considered other issues related to online gambling. For example:
- about the current limit of 500 euros, which has been reduced;
- Prohibitions on bonus offers;
- bans on the use of credit cards in casinos;
- minimum time applicable for self-exclusion;
- other questions.
Today, it has been decided that players will be able to return the 500 euro limit, but only after a request that will be reviewed by the operator and a special commission. All new measures and issues that have been reviewed recently are designed to reduce users' dependence on gambling. The authorities hope that this will happen, if not quickly, then in the near future.
