A law banning money transfers to online casinos has entered into force in Russia

As has already been early: Effective May 27, 2018. certain provisions of Federal Law No. 358-FZ dated November 27, 2017 "On Amending the Federal Law 'On Lotteries' and the Federal Law 'On State Regulation of Organization and Conduct of Gambling Activities and on Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation'" came into force, which prohibits banks and payment systems from transferring funds between individuals and illegal gambling sites.

The black list of banned gambling establishments will be available on the official website of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of the Russian Federation.

In fact, the law covers all online casinos, bookmakers and lotteries located outside Russia but providing services to Russian citizens via the Internet.

How the Tax Service will track and add organizations to the list is not reported. However, now if an individual tries to transfer money to an online casino account by bank card or payment system (e.g. Webmoney or Paypal), he or she may be denied the transaction.
