Gaming zones of the Russian Federation: results of eight years of work
No one will argue that over the past 15 years, the gambling industry has undergone quite a transformation. After gambling was banned on the territory of the country, the activity of gambling establishments was allowed exclusively in several special zones. Today they continue to develop quite successfully in the Far East, Sochi, Altai Krai and Kaliningrad Oblast.
The first gambling zones welcomed visitors in 2015. Casinos were opened in the Altai Territory and the Far East. Just a couple of years later, gambling establishments also appeared in Sochi and the Kaliningrad region. Since eight years is quite a long time, today we can already talk about the achievements that the business has managed to achieve. During the whole time about 7.5 million people visited the gambling zones of the Russian Federation. The number of guests by region was distributed as follows:
- Sochi ("Krasnaya Polyana") - about 4 million people;
- Far East ("Primorye") - 2.2 million guests;
- Kaliningrad Oblast ("Amber") - 700 thousand players;
- Altai Territory ("Siberian Coin") - almost 500 thousand visitors.
As can be seen from the above statistics, the majority of guests who prefer gambling vacation visited warm Sochi, although the Far East is also not neglected. By the way, the gambling zone "Primorye" has received the most foreign guests during this period. It was visited by more than 500 thousand foreigners. In "Krasnaya Polyana" came a little more than 400 thousand guests from abroad. Much more modest results were shown by "Siberian Coin" and "Yantarnaya". About seven thousand foreign players have visited here for 8 years of operation. All the gambling zones of the Russian Federation contributed almost 12 billion rubles to the country's budget, which is not a bad indicator. Tax payments by zones were distributed in the following way:
- "Krasnaya Polyana" - 6.76 billion rubles;
- "Primorye" - 3.95 billion rubles;
- "Yantarnaya" - 636.62 million rubles;
- "Siberian Coin - 478.26 million rubles.
Over the past years, Russian gambling zones have been transformed into clusters of multifunctional purpose. A large number of new and currently being built facilities that are not related to the gambling business have appeared in them. These are hotels, concert halls, restaurants, cafes, etc. In general, it can be noted that the idea of opening gambling zones has fully justified itself.
