The gambling industry is growing rapidly
Despite the tightening of laws for gambling business in almost all countries where such activity is permitted, the industry continues to develop, and this is happening quite quickly. New complexes offering gambling entertainment have opened or are waiting to open in different parts of the world this year. Below are several projects that can be considered the largest.
Batumi
Georgia will have the largest casino resort. The complex will be opened in the resort town of Batumi. It is assumed that in addition to the gambling establishment, it will include the largest hotel in the city. The complex is being built by a company from the UAE. The first casino resort will operate in the beach area. It will welcome guests in 2026. It is assumed that the complex will be represented by:
- the largest hotel in the city (600 rooms);
- gaming halls with various gambling entertainment;
- restaurants and SPA;
- swimming pools and children's play areas;
- shops and concert halls.
The Dubai-based investment company, which is the sponsor, said the venue would host world-class games.
Ottawa
The first hotel-casino will open in Canada in 2025. The complex is expected to appear in Ottawa. It will be decorated in the Hard Rock style. There will be more than 150 rooms, including luxury apartments. The gaming room will have more than 1,500 slot machines and 40 tables. In addition, visitors will be able to participate in high-limit games. In addition to gambling, there will be 10 restaurants, bars, lounges, etc. If it were not for the restrictive measures taken during the pandemic a couple of years ago, the complex would already be open and welcoming guests.
Limassol
The opening of the largest casino resort in Cyprus took place in early June. 600 million euros were spent on the construction of the complex. Its owner is Melco Resorts&Entertainment, headed by Lawrence Ho (the son of the famous Stanley Ho, who created the gambling industry in Macau and Hong Kong). The company is going to turn the island state into a world resort with recreational opportunities for gambling enthusiasts.
