Georgian scammers detained in Holland Casino in the Netherlands
A criminal group suspected of fraud was arrested in a Dutch casino last week. Security at Holland Casino, located in the town of Venlo, noticed that visitors were trying to manipulate the results of the roulette machine.
After the arrest of four suspects, it turned out that they all came from Georgia. The most interesting thing is that all of them had been wanted by Interpol for some time on suspicion of organizing similar crimes. The latest episode is far from the first. Similar fraudulent actions have already been undertaken by these visitors in other casinos in Holland and a number of neighboring countries.
According to the security service, the criminals tried to open the gaming machine and even broke the protective glass. During the arrest, large sums of money and vouchers that they had already managed to get during the dishonest game were found on the players. Representatives of the police, where the criminal quartet was taken, stated that the fraudsters had placed a bet in the wrong casino. Here, their tricks, which were successfully used in other European clubs, did not work. This was prevented by the vigilance of the security service employees.
The modern equipment of the Venlo casino helped security personnel to stop the fraud attempt and to detain suspects in crimes of this nature, who were wanted by Interpol. As stated by the casino owners, the club is constantly improving its methods of detecting various types of fraud.
Several groups involved in gambling fraud have already been arrested in Europe this year. Most of the people involved were from former Soviet republics. The criminal groups included residents of various countries that emerged in the post-Soviet space after 1991.
