Gambling content returns to Google Play
From March 1 of this year, gamers in several more countries will have the opportunity to download casino apps and gambling games to smartphones and other Android devices legally directly from Google Play. Let us recall that several years ago, after amendments made by the corporation, such actions were restricted in many countries. Soon, another 15 countries will be included in the list of jurisdictions in which downloading gambling content will be allowed.
The store will be allowed to host such entertainment for players living in Canada, Australia, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Spain, Romania and the United States. Previously, licensed applications for downloading and installing were allowed only in Ireland, Great Britain, France and Brazil. After the official entry into force of the new amendments, game software manufacturers will be able to host on the store platform not only traditional online casino gambling games, but also lotteries, clients for betting on sports, etc. As Google warned, the software moderation criteria will differ depending on the jurisdiction of the manufacturer.
All such entertainment must be published with an 18+ rating. They must also be accompanied by warnings about the inadmissibility of using the content by minors. In addition, there should be no charge for downloading software from the store. A special procedure for submitting applications for posting content is provided for all interested companies. In this case, the manufacturer will have to confirm that its products are licensed and fully comply with the criteria of legality. If violations are found after this, the software will be permanently removed from Google Play.
