Demand for lottery tickets is growing rapidly
Lotteries are a very popular form of gambling entertainment, which in Russia and other CIS countries is not as developed as in other countries. It is known that the biggest winnings are received by lottery participants, not casino players. Apparently, the news that in recent years lucky people have managed to win several hundred million dollars in lotteries has become the reason for the growth in popularity of various lotteries in the Russian Federation.
According to the press service of Stoloto (an organization responsible for a large number of lotteries), the number of winnings in various draws in 2019 has increased significantly compared to 2018. At the same time, the analysis for last year has not yet been completed. However, using the example of the Samara Region and Primorsky Krai, it is clear that in 2019, the total amount of winnings was almost 500 million rubles, which is 20% more than in 2018. The largest one-time payment in the region in 2018 was a win of 2.5 million rubles. The number of lucky people who received significant money during lottery draws in Samara was 13 people.
The picture is similar in Primorye. The number of lottery tickets purchased in 2019 increased by 25% compared to 2018. The total amount of winnings in the region exceeded 300 million rubles. By the way, this is almost 24% more than the year before. The largest one-time win was 10 million rubles with a purchased ticket costing 100 rubles.
In addition, a representative of Stoloto stated that a Moscow resident recently won about 18 million rubles in the 12/24 draw. Interestingly, the lucky winner has not yet collected his winnings. By the way, in connection with the steadily growing demand for lottery tickets, the government is going to conduct additional financial audits of all organizations that organize lottery draws, since recently many fraudulent sites have appeared on the Internet, offering to take part in various lotteries.
