Almost 50 underground casinos and clubs have been liquidated in Moscow
More and more underground land-based gambling establishments are opening in Russia. Despite the fact that the illegal gambling business on the Internet is growing very quickly, lovers of quick profits do not forget to open casinos and slot machine halls on the streets of cities. The other day, a representative of the capital's department responsible for combating corruption and regional security informed the public about the suppression of the activities of 49 underground gambling establishments that operated in Moscow.
Among the illegal gaming points were five halls with slot machines, 37 Internet clubs and seven real casinos with various gambling entertainments. In total, law enforcement agencies seized 763 units of gambling equipment worth several million rubles.
This number of illegal establishments is considered quite large. For example, during the same three quarters of the previous year, a smaller number of underground gambling points were liquidated. Illegal casinos and clubs were located in apartments and office premises on the following streets of Moscow:
- Mikhailov and Isakovsky;
- Sadovo-Kudrinskaya and Begovaya;
- Yenisei and Annenskaya;
- Leskova and the Big Masons
- Yeseninsky and Nikitsky boulevards;
- Volgogradsky Prospekt, Savinskaya Embankment, etc.
In addition, the department representative stated that complaints about legal bookmaker offices, of which there are many in the capital, have recently been much more frequent than before. Thus, according to city residents, almost 80% bookmaker offices, which is about 360 offices, operate with violations. Currently, constant monitoring of bookmaker operations is being organized in the capital. Its goal is to check all offices that accept bets on sports. Their activities must comply with the new rules for the operation of offices, which were introduced at the end of September.
