The reason for such a serious penalty was the provision of unlicensed services by the company. The statement also stated that before assigning such a record fine, a joint independent investigation was conducted by the regulator and the island's police. As a result, it was found that player payments were not being processed properly, that is, official permission was not received to provide this service.
Blackrock Media Limited is a subsidiary of Blackrock Entertainment BV, which operates the well-known online casino WildSultan (licensed in Curacao). The public is not given all the details, but journalists have a strong belief that such a huge fine was imposed for reasons that are not stated in the statement. For example, as it recently became known, Blackrock Media is involved in financial transactions carried out by a group of the richest and most influential people in the world. Perhaps we are talking about money laundering.
In fact, if the above is true, the sum of 2.5 million euros is very modest for the business elite. It is quite possible that the MGA's actions are based on contractual relations. On the one hand, the public is shown that there is an uncompromising fight against financial fraud, and on the other, the authoritative gambling regulator proves that it can still be trusted.
