50 million rubles: tax deductions for gambling from Kaliningrad
According to the official website of the Ministry of Finance, from January to June 2019, more than 50 million rubles were received into the state treasury in the form of tax deductions from gambling operators in the Kaliningrad region.
The exact figure as of July 1, 2019 is 51.7 million rubles. From the financial statements it follows that in the second quarter the gambling industry of the region earned much more than in the first, since for the period April-June taxes amounted to almost 30 million rubles.
According to the regional authorities, they are going to increase the income from tax deductions from the gambling entertainment sector to 130 million rubles by the end of the year. The extent to which this is real will be shown by the reporting prepared next year. It is not surprising that the state's income in this sector of the economy has grown compared to last year. The fact is that the tax burden on the gambling business has doubled. That is, local legislation has been brought into full compliance with federal laws.
The main profit was received from bookmakers' deductions, not casinos. Today, there are more than 20 sports betting shops in the Kaliningrad region. Among the most famous offices are the following:
- Fonbet;
- League of Rates;
- Zenit and others.
The Yantarnaya gambling zone has one Sobranie casino and a Magic Crystal slot machine hall. Local authorities are trying to increase the attractiveness of the gambling zone. For example, this year a simplified visa regime for foreign tourists was introduced. However, investors will clearly not benefit from an increase in the tax burden on businesses. Nevertheless, interested parties continue to invest in the development of the gambling zone. What the result will be at the end of this year will be shown by tax reporting and deductions transferred to the state budget already in 2020.
